Australian National Botanic Gardens

Experience the cool, moist air of the Rainforest Gully to the wide expanse of the Red Centre garden.

Discover the rich stories of Australia’s unique plants and landscapes through the largest collection of Australian plants in the world. From sub-tropical rainforests, to the central desert, students can engage with a wide diversity of Australia’s ecosystems in the Gardens.

Challenge your student’s thinking on the vital role plants play in the world’s biodiversity and human wellbeing.  Explore the ways that Indigenous people have used Australian plants and shaped Australian landscapes. Dig deeper into plant science with programmes on plant lifecycles, evolution, and classification.

Alive with learning and just minutes from the city centre, the Gardens is the perfect place for students to engage their senses and learn or stretch their legs and recharge.
