Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia

The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia’s Cultural Centre features ancient and more contemporary traditions. The many interactive exhibits on display include wayang kulit (shadow puppets) and the accompanying gamelan musical instruments as well as an angklung musical instrument. The wayang kulit theatre and the angklung have been designated by UNESCO as Masterpieces of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

Visitors can also enjoy the traditional architecture of the Cultural Centre, with its tranquil surroundings and large fish ponds. To enter, visitors are invited to walk up steps to the Balinese Gapura (gate), along the way passing a miniature of the world’s largest Buddhist temple, the Borobudur Temple, and statues of good and evil characters from the epic story of the Mahabarata and the Ramayana.

Come visit the Cultural Centre and experience Indonesian hospitality.
